| Business Ethic |
| Our dedication to the business ethic is one of the foremost
principles in running our company. We work closely with our
employees, and do our best to provide them with good salaries.
We also maintain a close level of contact with local specialists
in bamboo, wood, stone and other craft materials.
We have selected these people-or these families-based on
their competencies and their honesty. We do this in order
to foster their own professional development, leading ultimately
to self-sufficiency in their chosen area of expertise.
Most of them work in their own homes and workplaces, far
away from the crowd-especially away from the tourist areas.
Transportation is difficult to and from some locations, and
in these cases we make arrangements to bring the job to them.
Their employment with us gives them a chance to provide their
children with a better education, and sometimes, when needed,
we also provide them with improved housing.
During this training process, we also teach them respect
for the export quality of the products that they produce-a
key element in our business.
Many designers and artisans have been working with us on
a full-time basis for the last four years. This employment
has enabled them to afford the cost of a superior education
for their children while still remaining close to home with
their families.

we have recently created two new catalogues of products that
relate to these issues.

Soapnuts
|
A soapnut is the small round fruit of the soapnut tree
(which, like the lychee, is a member of the Sapindacees
family). It grows well in all parts of Indonesia.
The shells from these nuts have been used for centuries
as a traditional natural soap for washing fabrics. In industrialized
nations, Saponine-the extract of the nut-has long been used
as an ingredient in commercially-produced soaps. Only in
recent years, however, has this natural product been made
available to the general public in its original form. In
a growing number of western countries, it is gaining increasing
popularity as a natural, all-purpose, nature-friendly cleaning
agent.
The Advantages (compared to other soaps and detergents)
The shell of the soapnut contains up to 15% saponine.
This substance works at the base of the fabrics, taking
out the stains and at the same time protecting the strength
and colors of the threads in the fabrics.
Thanks to the natural washing substance that comes from
the soapnut shells, the washed fabric becomes soft without
the use of conventional chemical softeners.
Because this product contains no chemicals, synthetic fragrances
or other additives, the soapnut is well-recommended to people
who have allergies or problems with sensitive skin.
Good Price
Compared to conventional detergents, it is possible to save
up to 50% in laundry costs through the use of this product.
Ecology and the Environment
The soapnut is a totally biodegradable product! After
use, the non-soluble parts of the shells mix readily into
compost. It protects the environment because it doesn't
pollute the water, quite unlike detergents or soaps which
contain synthetic chemicals.
The use of soapnuts as an eco-friendly cleaning alternative
helps us in the fight to prevent the unrestrained exploitation
of the forests, and at the same time protects the soil from
erosion and depletion. The commercialization of the soapnut
also supplies a much-needed source of income to the native
people involved in their harvest.

Bathroom and Kitchen Products
|
In this catalog, we feature kitchen and bathroom items
made of bamboo and/or coconut shells and husks. In addition
to avoiding the use of slow-to-replenish wood, these articles
do not contain synthetic chemicals, and the materials used
in them are fully organic.
By buying these products, clients are helping the local
craftsmen and protecting the big forests.

Conditions of Sale
All of our clients who place their orders over the internet
will receive a pro forma invoice in Indonesian currency
(rupiah), except for specific orders.
If the client agrees with the terms of the pro forma invoice,
50% of the total price must be paid as a down payment. We
will begin processing the order the day that we receive
the money transfer, and the time frame agreed to will be
counted from that same day.
The remainder of the payment should be transferred no more
than eight days before the desired shipping date. No order
will be shipped before this payment has been completed.
The time allowed for the fabrication of a full 20-foot
container of our products is ordinarily 8 to 10 weeks. However,
it could take as long as four months for goods made of bamboo,
which need a special drying treatment to ensure optimum
quality. We will be able to provide you with more specific
information at the time that the order is being placed.
The prices for the products in our on-line catalogues are
available by the use of a password which will be provided
to you via email on request. This will provide you with
the minimum quantities and unit prices (ex-factory Bali,
in Indonesian rupiah), and also shown is the quantity required
in order to receive a 6% volume discount.
An additional 6% discount will be automatically deducted
from the total invoice when the volume reaches 30 cubic
meters (the volume of a standard 20-foot container).
Complaints/Claims
If the clients receive goods which do not match the specifications
in the packing list or invoice, it will be our responsibility
to correct this problem with no additional product charge
(following the receipt of proof of the nature of the error).
However, the delivery cost of the replacement goods will be
the responsibility of the client.
Problems related to delivery after the goods have left the
factory will be the responsibility of the cargo company which
transports the order from our factory in Bali to the port
of departure in Surabaya (East Java Province) or the port
of arrival.
For full-container orders, the FOB price can be provided
on request.
Cargo Company
It is the responsibility of the client to select the cargo
company which will transport their orders. If the client doesn't
already have a preferred cargo company, we can provide contact
information for companies which we know to be trustworthy,
and who can do the job for a very reasonable price. The invoicing
and payment for the shipping costs will be arranged between
the client and the cargo company.
Packing
The listed prices apply to items packed in cardboard boxes.
The cost for special packing in wooden boxes would need to
be arranged between the client and the cargo company.
